Kaleidoscope

  1. The original Jerry used was a boutique of flowers on a table, with a lot of colors. The first kaleidoscope he made was very symmetric, and the colors stayed consistent with those of the original. He layered a few of the original pictures in the center to create depth, and under that had a mirrored image of half of the original. All of his kaleidoscopes resembled a peaceful or joyful moment, like a wedding or some type of celebration. His second kaleidoscope was a bit more dull, and the colors weren’t as vibrant. It was also not symmetric and had a more abstract look to it, as he placed pieces of the original randomly amongst the work. Jerry’s third kaleidoscope was the most unique. He randomly placed pieces of the original as the base, and on top created a swirling stack of the pictures making what seems to be an optical illusion. The strongest of his three artworks is the first one because it has great colors and contrast, it is nice and bright, while there is a great use of symmetry.
